ULLSWATER FLYING SITE
This is a superb site for waterplanes in beautiful surroundings with good parking and launching facilities. Flying area is about half a mile to the front and right , to the left is the full length of Ullswater ! It is about 6 miles from Junction 40 of the M6 (Penrith) and is adjacent to a campsite where tents and campervans can be accommodated, there is a shop and toilet facilities. Caravans are not allowed here but there is a large caravan park within half a mile , early booking is advised. Pooley Bridge village is about one mile or so from the site , there are several pubs, eateries ,hotels and B & B’s. Again early booking is advised if you want to stopover as this comparatively small area attracts about 70,000 visitors each year. Website for accommodation in the area is www.ullswater.co.uk

Directions: From M6 Junction 40 (Penrith) take the A66 s/p Keswick. About one mile turn left onto A592 s/p Ullswater & Pooley Bridge. Turn left at Lake s/p Pooley Bridge and follow road over the bridge, through village and turn right at Church. Turn right at junction s/p Howtown. The entrance to Waterside House Campsite is about one mile
on the right. Drive in bear right and stop at shop to check in and pay Campsite charges for use of site facilities. Drive straight on across first field then enter second field , over slight hump and you will see the flying area.
